OK Chicos!

You have three activities you need to do in class today.  The first is a listening activity. Please go to the Ning and look at the very bottom for the widget with music and audio MP3s.  Find 7B WAV #8.  Listen to it and fill out the worksheet that goes with it.  On the back of the worksheet, Actividay 12, you will find 8 questions.  Please answer those in Spanish using complete sentences.  Most answers will include the prepostion POR used in context.  Turn that paper in and pick up the question guide "Comida Española". Go to this slideshow. View the different Spanish foods & answer the questions on your paper.  We will discuss what you saw as a class.

El dos de marzo

Vamos a aprender un poco sobre el terremoto de Chile hoy.  Con un compañero van a escribir sobre un tira editorial (editorial cartoon).  Antes de escribir,  habla con tu compañero de lo que ves en tu papel. Busca las palabras que no conoces. Escribe un borrador (draft) en el papel.  Cambia papeles y lee lo que escribe tu compañero.  ¿Necesita correcciones?  Ahora vayan a esta entrada para la tira de la Parca (Grim Reaper) o a ésta para la tira de los moais en la isla de Pascua (Easter Island). Pongan su escritura creativa en los comentarios.

Si tienen tiempo vayan a este sitio y encuentren un periódico de Sur America con noticias sobre el terremoto de Chile. Miren los resumenes de noticias (headlines).  ¿Qué palabras conocen?  ¿Qué palabras son importantes y tienen que buscar en el diccionario?  ¿Qué palabras son cognados (cognates)? Hagan una lista.
